Shaping the future of Hackney CVS

Shaping the future of Hackney CVS

A message from Bejal Shah, Interim CEO, Hackney CVS

Dear colleagues

Over the past few months, I’ve had the chance to speak with many of you – and what I’ve heard has been clear and consistent: Hackney CVS needs to evolve to better meet the needs of our voluntary and community sector (VCS).

Like many of you, we are navigating a challenging and changing landscape. In response, we are embarking on a bold programme of organisational change to ensure we are fit for the future, and that we fulfil our core purpose as an infrastructure body: to support, champion and amplify the voice of the VCS across Hackney and the City of London.

We want to keep listening and would like to invite you to shape what Hackney CVS looks like next.

Listening session

We’ll be hosting an in-person Listening Session on Thursday 22 May 2025 to hear about:

  • What support your organisation needs.
  • What Hackney CVS should prioritise to tackle the biggest challenges in the borough.
  • What you want to see more of – and what you think should be stopped or done differently.

Complete our survey

If you can’t make it in person, we’d still love to hear from you via our survey. Please be as honest as possible as your voice will directly inform the decisions we make over the coming months.

We’re committed to building a more focused, responsive and impactful organisation, with the VCS at the heart of it.
