Neighbourhoods training

Understanding anxiety in children and young people

The First Steps team is delivering training on understanding anxiety for colleagues in the voluntary and community sector (VCS) working with children and young people.

This training was developed in response to the concerns raised at the Well Street Common Neighbourhood Forum earlier this year about the high numbers of young people experiencing anxiety and how to support them.

This training covers what anxiety is and gives participants practical tools which we hope will support you to support children and young people you work with who are experiencing anxiety. The training is being delivered across all Neighbourhoods by the end of April 2024. The training will last two hours with a break, and there will be an optional 30-minute Q&A session and it will be in person within the community. 2-3 members from each organisation are welcome to attend.
