The places where we live and work define who we are and what we do. They determine the nature of our relationships with the people around us and the nature of the communities that we create together. Place-based approaches are characterised by a shift away from centrally dictated policy, towards holistic and collaborative solutions that are defined, generated and delivered locally.
Aimed at trustees, and anyone interested in place-based working, this seminar will take a look at the charities operating across the UK, and internationally, that are increasingly considering more joined up working to achieve sustained social change. Despite its prevalence, there is still a lack of clarity about what place-based working means and what it looks like in practice, let alone what role trustees might play.
