Five to Thrive

In City and Hackney, Five to Thrive offers advice about the five ways, and suggested activities and local events that residents can access to maintain positive mental health and wellbeing.

Five to Thrive is based on the recommendations made in the Five Ways to Wellbeing report. The five key things identified that promote wellbeing and make life happier and more fulfilling are:

  • Connecting.
  • Being active.
  • Learning new things.
  • Giving.
  • Taking notice.

Mind City, Hackney and Waltham Forest is offering free training in Five to Thrive for voluntary and community groups. The 2-hour training session will provide participants with basic skills in understanding and sharing the benefits of Five to Thrive with their family, friends, and City & Hackney community.

They are keen to hear from organisations that are working with marginalised groups or groups facing health inequalities.

There must already be a formed group of between 8-20 participants. They are not able to run the training sessions on a drop-in basis.

They are offering one training session a month between June and December 2024 (on a Monday, or Tuesday morning only). This offer is subject to availability.

They also offer free, Five to Thrive one-hour workshops for groups, exploring what the ‘five’ are, and the benefits.
