Hackney CVS’s User Led Training Project has been supported through workforce development funding from the City & Hackney Community Education Provider Network (CEPN) for services users to design their own training and then deliver their training to health professionals. The project is also an active member of the CEPN network.
This project is winner of the Patient’s Association Award for ‘Innovative Ways of Involvement’ for the training courses disabled residents in Hackney have designed and delivered to NHS staff across hospital and primary care services in Hackney. The range of staff trained so far has included nurses, staff in general practice, Care Certificate Trainees and Apprentices among others.
The project which was piloted in 2015/16 is now recruiting new participants and new training commissions for the 2016/17 project.
