Fundraising and partnerships

Supporting Hackney’s not-for-profit groups to raise funds is an important part of our work

City and Hackney Together

Local community organisations often lack the capacity to win contracts on their own, and public sector contracts are increasingly awarded through a tendering process. That’s where City and Hackney Together can help your organisation – we have the specialist skills to win contracts on behalf of member partnerships. When City and Hackney Together wins a contract, members are subcontracted to do what they do best – deliver services.

Hackney Giving

We set up and run Hackney Giving – a local fund that channels money to smaller grassroots community groups. Since 2014 Hackney Giving has raised over £2.8million for local groups.

What they say

"City and Hackney Together has been a very good example of how we can commission services. We have been impressed by the consortium offer, which has provided so much diversity to our complex client group"

Jennifer Walker, programme director, One Hackney and City

"With the money from Hackney Giving we are training six disabled people in advocacy and providing them with work placements. They will be empowered to give back to their community by advocating for fellow disabled people, thereby acting as Hackney champions"

Caroline Nelson, director, Choice in Hackney
