VCSquared project launched in the City of London

VCSquared launch and City networking morning event

Earlier this month, over 20 organisations working in the City of London came to the launch of VCSquared, our new City project.

VCSquared is designed to support and strengthen the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in the City of London.

The launch, held at Portsoken Community Centre on Little Somerset Street, gave a space for organisations to connect with each other and find out more about local services. It was also an opportunity to discover how VCSquared aims to support these services and enhance resilience in the City of London’s voluntary and community sector.

This event was open to all organisations based in the City or delivering services in it. This included formal organisations, grassroots groups and residents.

Soraya Akrouche, City VCS Development Outreach Officer at Hackney CVS, organised the event. Soraya said: “The VCSquared event was a great success, and it was wonderful to see both the local authority and the VCS sector come together in such a dynamic and engaging session. It was truly fascinating to hear the diverse perspectives and learn about the ongoing work being carried out by the different actors in the VCS sector within the City of London.”

Soraya added: “The event underscored the importance of collaboration in strengthening and supporting the VCS community in and around the Square Mile. We hope that VCSquared will pave the way for long-term improvements in the support and growth of the sector.”
