The VCS Neighbourhoods programme is all about improving services and addressing inequalities. It does this by ensuring the knowledge, insights and understanding of the local VCS organisations, working within our diverse communities help shape their local health and care services. This is achieved through their participation in Neighbourhood Conversations and Forums where they work shoulder-to-shoulder with residents and health and care professionals to agree priorities and co-design services.
Since the programme started, Hackney CVS has been facilitating these gatherings but this is about to change. We’re really excited to be promoting four Neighbourhood VCS Facilitator (four-day-per-week) secondment opportunities that will see this role devolve down to VCS organisations. We feel this will bring us yet another step closer to ensuring that the Forum voices heard are authentic to their Neighbourhoods. For more information about the role itself, take a look at the job description here.
So why should you be interested?
The funding involved could be a chance to build your organisational capacity, paying for that great sessional worker to play a bigger part in linking your organisations into the community. It will pay their wages for 9 months and contribute to some of their attendant costs. It will give you access to a meetings and events budget as well as a share of the project’s communications and training budgets, all in a role that will build local relationships and allow your organisation to play a pivotal role in their local health and care system.
