Launch of Hackney Account’s new zine

Hackney Account's new zine

Last week, Hackney Account launched a new zine (a small booklet) at the IDPAD Empowerment Centre (also known as the Levy Centre).

This zine is based on the findings of their report ‘Policing in Hackney: Challenges from Youth in 2020’ and features poetry, art, speeches, research and recommendations and has been designed by Salma Istwani and Account Community Researcher and artist Infinity Agbetu.

The launch featured a panel of researchers and activists from the Account project alongside live performances, music and poetry from the Account Music Team.

Account is a youth-led social action project based at Hackney CVS. They monitor and scrutinise police activity.
Their purpose is to empower young people, generate knowledge, campaign for justice, and hold those in power to account.
