DESCRIPTION:The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018 and most organisations in all sectors will need to make some changes in order to comply.\n\nThis intensive workshop aims to provide you with in-depth knowledge on how to be GDPR compliant by May 2018. This includes how it should be applied in practice and the importance for data controllers and data processors holding personal information to ensure that correct frameworks and systems are in place in order to comply. \nWho is this aimed at?  \nAnyone who has an overall responsibility for data protection within the organisation ideally Data Protection Officers and/or Data Protection leads. DESCRIPTION:                        \n\n\n\n\nThis is an internationally recognised and certificated Youth Mental First Aid training delivered by certified Mental Health First Aid England instructors.\n\nDo you work with Young people in Hackney? \nDo you want to learn how to promote a young person’s mental and emotional wellbeing? \nThen attend this course which will provide you with the information\, tools\, and techniques you need to support a young person who might be experiencing mental and emotional distress. \nThe course is split into the following four sections:  \n\nWhat is mental health?\nDepression and anxiety\nSuicide and psychosis\nSelf-harm and eating disorders\n\nWithin each section\, there is a clear focus on the issues faced by young people\, including bullying/cyber-bullying and substance misuse. The course also teaches the importance of promoting well-being and protective factors. \nLearning outcomes\nEach section will teach you how to: \n\nSpot the early signs of a mental health issue in young people\nFeel confident helping a young person experiencing mental ill health\nProvide help on a first aid basis\nHelp protect a young person who might be at risk of harm\nHelp prevent a mental health issue from getting worse\nGuide a young person towards the right support\nReduce the stigma of mental health issues\n\nThe sessions will be a mix of presentations\, discussions\, and group work activities. They are people and institutions established\, trusted and valued in the community – volunteers\, staff\, apprentices\, religious leaders\, politicians\, youth workers\, social entrepreneurs etc. They are influential and working to improve the lives of people living in their community. Through the programme they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to design and implement social action projects to tackle social issues in their community. \nShoreditch Trust is delivering the Active Citizens programme in partnership with the British Council. We are recruiting participants for the 2017/18 course which will take place from 20th November – 24th November 2017.
