Earlier this year, we invited organisations to bid to deliver community activities for older people in community spaces. We have been unable to allocate the full amount of funding available and are issuing the invitation to tender again. We have also revised the delivery targets.
The reason that we are commissioning this work is that older people tell us on a regular basis that they would like access to more places to meet people and socialise. This means comfortable and accessible places to meet for both structured activities and to enjoy more informal time with others in a relaxed environment. There is a particular interest in projects that involve dancing, arts, crafts, music, and/or food and an enthusiasm for sharing skills and interests with people from other age groups (intergenerational but not just young people).
Please note that the purpose of this commissioning strand is for activities that complement existing projects or new activities that are relatively low-cost to run. The main focus of this strand is providing access to places/activities for older people to socialise and have fun. Examples could be social coffee clubs, dances, crochet circles, gardening groups, cooking projects, games nights etc.
£80k remains available for this strand of work (from an initial allocation of £120k) and bids are capped at £20k for project delivery taking place from January 2019 to December 2020. Please e-mail email@example.com if you have any questions and please do not apply for the same activity or project if you have previously submitted a bid to this commissioning strand.
The closing date for bids is 12pm on Wednesday 21 November 2018.
We are excited to launch this invitation to tender for an embedded researcher to deliver the evaluation of the Connect Hackney programme and its associated projects.
