Board of Trustees

Hackney CVS Chair - unremunerated

Since 1997 Hackney CVS has led the way in championing local voluntary and community sector organisations working on the frontline, supporting some of the most marginalised communities within society. Equality, diversity, and inclusion are at the heart of what we stand for, and we use our position as a local anchor body to bring about positive systems change. Our work today is just as critical as it was when we were first established.

Our impact now means we benefit from a number of strong strategic partnerships with both local and national bodies, with whom we collaborate to bring about a more fair and just society, and who rely on us to be the bridge between the City of London, and the London Borough of Hackney’s richly diverse voluntary and community sector, and the communities the sector supports.

We are seeking a new Chair who will lead us through our next chapter. You will have a strong understanding of the voluntary and community sector and will share our values of social justice and fairness. You will bring your experience as Chair, or as a trustee ready for your first Chair position, to lead the board in overseeing the success of the Charity. Ideally you will have connections to and an understanding of Hackney and its communities.

You will join and lead a committed, highly skilled, diverse, and experienced Board, and an organisation that is dedicated to creating a fairer society. We strive to ensure our Board of Trustees reflects the communities we support through our work and are aware of the under-representation of certain groups in the sector. We therefore very much welcome applications from people from Black & Global Majority backgrounds, disabled people and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
