Salary: £60,000 to £66,000 [It is expected that the successful candidate will start towards the lower end of this range with future progression based on performance.  A starting salary towards the higher end of the range may be offered in exceptional circumstances to outstanding candidates.]

We are very excited to be recruiting a new Chief Executive to join Hackney CVS.  As we prepare to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, there is lots to be proud of within our organisation.

We’ve recently invested in the development of our premises and are working on a range of impactful and innovative projects that make a genuine difference to Hackney’s Voluntary and Community Sector.  Through our work, we empower the local community to develop and lead solutions to the inequalities they face whilst providing the networks and spaces to help them work together on important projects and have a voice in the decisions affecting them. We have excellent strategic relationships, a strong reputation of trust, and access to a number of high-profile supporters and funders.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and where we’ve come from. But, we also know there are big challenges that lie ahead. The Covid-19 pandemic has created an increasingly complex and difficult environment.  As competition for funding grows and there are bigger demands for support, the sector and Hackney CVS will play a key role in helping to address inequalities and provide the support needed by those most affected by the pandemic.

Our new CEO will help us to ensure that local residents and communities remain central to the design and delivery of our services. We need someone that is strategic and future thinking who will help us to navigate our future challenges, whilst being hands-on enough to understand our communities and lead on key programmes.  As our new CEO, you will be a strong champion and advocate for the sector and will be able to build existing and new strategic relationships and networks. You’ll be an effective and compassionate leader, with a good understanding of the challenges faced by those we serve. You’ll also be able to seek out new opportunities and have an innovative approach to fundraising and income generation.
