User-led training

Our Projects

User-led training

The User-led training project supports disabled residents and/or their family carers to design training courses which they deliver to both Health and Social Care professionals and Hackney Council staff.

The training sessions give participants a greater understanding of disabled people’s experiences, expectations and needs.

Residents wishing to join the group as a trainer should contact the User-led Training Coordinator Althea Holness:

userledtraining@hcvs.org.uk

Any workforce departments in the NHS, Primary Care, Voluntary Sector, Private Sector or Hackney Council who are interested in commissioning training please contact Jane Bell, User Led Programme Coordinator:

 jane@hcvs.org.uk

The NHS and social care side of the project has been supported through workforce development funding from the City & Hackney Community Education Provider Network (CEPN) and HENCEL (Health Education North Central and East London). The project is an active member of the CEPN network.
