City and Hackney Together has been a very good example of how we can commission services. We have been impressed by the consortium offer, which has provided so much diversity to our complex client group. Jennifer Walker, NHS City and Hackney CCG
Hackney’s young people play a key role in the future of the borough. We are dedicated to nurturing young people by building their leadership skills and supporting them to realise their potential and dreams. Through our projects – detailed below - we empower young people to lead and affect change within their communities.
The Moving On Up Project, funded by the Trust for London, aims to improve outcomes for young black men in Hackney by providing estate-based employment support and empowering young men themselves to influence policy both at a local and pan-London level.
Key to this work has been the Inspirational Leaders, a group of young black men who deliver aspirational workshop in youth clubs and schools as well as acting as the Youth Advisory Board to a multi-agency Young Black Men Partnership Group that is chaired by Hackney Deputy Mayor Cllr Anntoinette Bramble.
